The Think Blue activation would showcase SWEEP-E -- the City of San Diego's first 100% electric mini street sweeper -- and give attendees the opportunity to climb behind the wheel. Giveaways would include SWEEP-E stickers and coloring pages/crayons for younger students. Older students with phones will be asked to take an educational stormwater quiz (via a QR code) in order to spin a wheel to win a prize (lunch boxes, dog bags, pet bowls, water bottles, etc.)

We will have an SD Loyal booth as well as one of our partners Catalyst to provide a booth demonstrating recovery strategies for players including elastic bands, stretching, etc. Our Loyal booth will have freebies for the kids including stickers, car flags, squishy balls, as well as an enter to win for people to possibly win free tickets to an upcoming game!
All volunteers who work with youth are invited to attend this role model training session.
Failure is an important part of the the science and engineering process.
While youth (especially girls) fear failure, STEM professionals have and continue to fail many times in their careers. In this workshop, you will learn storytelling skills to help you artfully communicate your experiences with failing – and the lessons learned – to younger audiences.
It takes true community spirit and engagement to build a successful Festival Week and momentum to support ongoing programs. Our mission is to provide meaningful year-round STEAM experiences for youth and adults alike in San Diego, and throughout the state of CA through our virtual platform.
