STEM In Your Backyard: Vista

Join the Biocom Institute Festival of Science & Engineering as we celebrate STEM In the Vista community! Bring your family to the Main Street Parking lot (located next to the Avo playhouse) for a FREE and fun filled day featuring over 25 interactive, hands-on exhibits from local businesses, nonprofits, and schools. All activities are to spark a love for science in your future innovator.

*Parking is available for free in the adjacent dirt parking lot off Main Street, Vista, CA. Free street parking is also available on Sundays.

Super STEM Saturday

Super STEM Saturday is designed to expose and engage kids of all ages and their families to the diverse and exciting fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, known as the STEM disciplines. The brainchild of The Classical Academies and held in partnership with CSUSM, Super STEM Saturday has grown into a popular North County event that draws over 7,000 science enthusiasts each year to the university campus.

Vista Unified School District 4th Annual STEM Fest!

Vista Unified School District would like to extend an invitation to join us for our 4th Annual STEM Fest event. STEM Fest is an evening event celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics showcasing K-12 student's innovative and creative STEM work. STEM related companies will host demonstrations and share career related information. MiraCosta and Palomar colleges, Cal State San Marcos and UCSD will also be in attendance providing interactive STEM activities and college STEM course and major information. See you at our free event!

Science Fun for kids 9-99!

San Diego Miramar College will host a free science festival on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12pm for kids from 9 to 99 at its Mira Mesa Campus (10440 Black Mountain Road). The Miramar College science faculty, staff and students will present a morning filled with “hands on” activities. All ages are welcome and this is a free event with free parking on campus! This event is part of the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering taking place around San Diego County starting on March 4th, 2017.

Project Lead The Way/SDSU Society of Women Engineers' Girls Day Out: Middle School Edition

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) and San Diego State University's Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter are hosting a Spring 2016 Girls Day Out just for middle school girls on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1pm-4pm at San Diego State University (SDSU). Students will have the opportunity to explore a few STEM fields with hands-on activities and interact with SDSU's SWE chapter and other student organizations, while parents/chaperones will learn about scholarship opportunities, various STEM programs for their daughters, and much more.

STEAM Concert With Music Notes

Join Music Notes, a team of former math teachers, for this unforgettable hip hop concert. Music Notes has traveled the country hosting assemblies for over 250,000 students and their videos have gathered over 2,000,000 views online. Their collection of STEAM-themed songs are sure to have attendees dancing and singing along.
