SDCCU has partnered with the San Diego County Office of Education and Live Well San Diego to provide educators the SDCCU Biz Kid$ program, a financial literacy initiative that teaches kids about money and business. The program includes an Emmy Award-winning television series from the creators of Bill Nye the Science Guy, free classroom curriculum, outreach activities and a website for kids. All of the Biz Kid$ episodes adhere to national, state and local standards for financial literacy and entrepreneurship education.

The Innovators LAB is our collaborative makerspace where we work with local artists and experts from various fields to create a design challenge to nurture creativity, problem solving, skill building, and learning.

We offer both “drop in” and “scheduled” workshops.

Learn how to build cool robots using cells, wheels, sensors, electric motors and much more!
Code cool robots of all shapes, sizes and functions using our our advanced Arduino boards.

Join the San Diego River Park Foundation, the City of Santee Stormwater Program, and the Santee Historical Society for a day of hands-on fun and learning! Visitors will have the chance to explore a museum of Santee history, try their hand at creating rain, enjoy native plant gardens, and get dirty with some hands-on community service… all in one place! This experience is an open house, so feel free to drop by anytime between 11:00am and 1:30pm, but we recommend you planning to stay for at least an hour. Scroll down for more details!

San Diego Miramar College will host a free science festival on Saturday March 3rd, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. for kids from 5 to 99 at its Mira Mesa Campus (10440 Black Mountain Road). The Miramar College science faculty, staff and students will present a morning filled with hands-on lab activities. All ages are welcome and this is a free event with free parking on campus! This event is part of the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering's Festival Week events, taking place around San Diego County from March 3rd-11th, 2018.

“From Bach To Rock" – March 8th-9th, 2018 Concerts at 9:30 & 11:30 a.m. @The Historic Balboa Theatre
A closer look at the original rock star of the classical world. Classics 4 Kids will detail the profile of J.S. Bach and how this historical figure continues to influence the music trends of today. Fun Science and Art Events at EcoVivarium's Living Museum

Young Scientists Session 6: Crazy Critters. The Young Scientists program is a space for parents and preschoolers to discover the wonders of science together. Be there to see your child get excited about science and spark their desire to continue exploring throughout their life. Topics for this month’s theme include: Feathered Friends, Habitats and Camouflage, Food Chain, Light Up the Night. Each four-week session is held on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and includes access to the Fleet's exhibit galleries. Members $75, nonmembers $85.

Learn and experience STEM through interactive booths run by Sweetwater's own high school students! Interactive booths will include: Science of dry ice, Maker Space wind tunnel, non-Newtonian Slime, Science of Sand and Polymers, and more! In addition, you can see a 3D printer in action, learn how biodeisel is made, play puzzle games, pet some reptiles, see some awesome robots, and much more!

The College of Sciences and College of Engineering at San Diego State University open their doors to K-12 students and families to showcase 22 interactive exhibits such as: CSI Meets CSU, Show-Me Geology, telescopes, planetarium showings, laser demonstrations, SuperSonic Ping-Pong Balls, Electron Microscope Facility, aerospace, robotics, making ice cream using liquid nitrogen, X-ray Crystallography, and much more.
