At this interactive booth, participants will build their own voltaic pile (one of the earliest types of batteries) using simple, safe materials such as zinc and copper discs and vinegar-soaked pads. Visitors will utilize problem solving and learn engineering concepts by using playdough and basic circuit components to activate lightbulbs and fans. Squishy Circuits will be used to teach basic concepts of electrical circuits, using conductive and insulating play dough. Our student leaders will lead robot races with visiting families while they showcase their lego robots.
