UCSD Bioengineering Graduate Society (BEGS)

Visitors to the booth can participate in a walkthrough illustrating the basics of genetics and how DNA can affect our physical beings. Following the walkthrough, visitors can enjoy three hands on activity stations. The first is a Build your own DNA station, the second is a genetic engineering station, and at the final station, a robot can be build based on the selection of dominate or recessive genes from two parent robots.

San Deigo-Imperial Council Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America's STEM committee would like to have a booth featuring the NOVA Awards program which incorporates learning with cool activities and exposure to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The hope is that these awards stimulate interest in STEM-related fields and shows how science, technology, engineering and mathematics apply to everyday living and the world around them. http://www.sdicbsa.org/Advancement/STEMNovaProgram.php

NDIA San Diego Chapter

Engage in development of the next generation scientist/engineers through actions and coordination with agencies and organizations involved in education, such as Biocom and Science and Engineering Festival. Demonstrate technologies supporting Department of Defense. Communicate the importance and need for STEM education and encourage STEM career path.

Ascent Streetboards

Ascent streetboards will host a hands on display for kids and adults to explore the science of polymers and plastics. The booth will take you through the design process to manufacturer plastic parts, which make up most of the components we touch. Kids will be able to compare and test the strength of different plastic parts and see common parts that use each of the plastics.

Stump the Engineer

Engineering can be incorporated into anything and make it cooler. Don’t think so? Robotsaura invites you to “stump the engineer.” Challenge the speaker with any idea and she will add engineering to it to make it cooler! Saura Naderi, or Robotsaura, is the designer of the engineering experience at Thinkabit Lab at Qualcomm. She will talk about how engineering is a means to create, build, design, imagine, just about anything.

Gold Sponsor

One 10' x 10' booth at Park Blvd. gate, One 10' x 10' booth at Park Blvd. gate, One 10' x 30" booth at Gaslamp gate. I will send more information about the demos we will be showing later.

BP America

Scientists and engineers from BP provide students an opportunity to see how hands-on, interactive science and engineering experiments can be fun and cool. And kids can have one-on-one conversations with BP scientists and engineers, learn about BP’s technology program and career development in BP.
