Hands on Science Activity geared for large multi-age audience - TBD (In the past we have done UV/Fluorescence, Science of Shaving Cream Art, Science of Non-Newtonian Fluids) Due to our early registration, the activity hasn't been formally decided. However, we are familiar with the age range, and volume of attendees and have developed program activities suited for this venue and its STEM enthusiasts. STEM Ambassadors are students from Palomar College who are majoring in a variety of STEM fields. They will have hands on demos, STEM career information and information about Palomar College.

The Escondido Police Department aims to expose students to the Crime Lab and Traffic Division and their dependence on math, physics, and scientific principles to complete investigations. The Crime Lab and Traffic Division will showcase the equipment utilized to gather data and conduct experiments used for investigations. Officers and laboratory technicians will explain how scientific principles are used daily to solve crimes and determine how traffic collisions occurred.

San Diego State University's School of Nursing is teaching the role of smoking and healthy lungs. Along with a healthy pair of lungs, comes a pig heart for prospectives to observe! We we also have information about the School of Nursing at SDSU and the proper steps to take to get into the program.

Display selected unusual medical clinical cases, discussions in posters form. Answer questions on clinical cases and relevant updates. Education on related clinical presentations, and treatments. promote awareness of unusual clinical cases.

Activity side will be performing DNA extractions using wheat germ, information side will be providing handouts about Salk programs

Neurosciences graduate students founded and organized the Neuroscience Outreach Program to share our knowledge of the brain and neuroscience research with San Diego students and community members. Throughout the year, graduate student volunteers share their enthusiasm for neuroscience by teaching introductory, hands-on activities in classrooms and at various events. Student directors are in charge of arranging outreach events in the greater San Diego area.
